ABBIE, a benefit for Rivertown Film and Arts Angels

Abbie begins as a 1987 lecture delivered by Abbie Hoffman, and is based entirely on his speeches and writings. Historical photos and videos accompany Abbie’s telling of candid tales from his youth and education at Brandeis and Berkeley, and from the Chicago 7 and the debilitating experience of living underground—creating a revealing portrait of the man called “the clown prince of the Sixties.” A rare Rivertown evening that is not primarily a film.
