Since the first screening of Buster Keaton’s The Cameraman in September, 2001, Rivertown Film has presented more than 22 screenings per year of important documentaries, independent and foreign films. We have screened films in almost every theater in Rockland County, in the park by the river, and against the wall of the old telephone building in downtown Nyack. When the pandemic began in the spring of 2020, we quickly switched to on-line streaming and continued to provide the quality programming that our audience craves.
Throughout the years, we have also offered post-film discussions with filmmakers, directors, actors, and others involved with making the film, and we have hosted community forums on important topics raised in the films, such as climate change, bias and racism, LGBTQ issues, and the role of arts in the community, often partnering with other community organizations to increase awareness and bring in new audiences.
Help support our continued work! Attend our films and discussions! Tell your Friends! And please give generously.
